THE MISSION
The World Has Never Needed Problem Solvers More
Every student we teach is a potential discoverer — and could be one to solve great problems that help others and our world. Climate change demands innovative thinking, as do clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and the future of mobility and cities, health and wellness. These problems won't solve themselves. They need unique and innovative thinkers. They need a fully equipped next generation. We are here to help and equip them.
BOLTZMANN ENTROPY
PHOTOSYNTHESIS
Where thermodynamics, life, and the engineered world converge.
Climate Change
Rising global temperatures demand bold, cross-disciplinary innovation. From carbon capture to renewable infrastructure, the solutions require scientists who understand chemistry, physics, and ecosystems together.
Environmental Science · PhysicsClean Energy
The world must transition off fossil fuels within a generation. Solar, fusion, hydrogen — each demands deep fluency in physics, chemistry, and engineering to move from theory to reality.
Physics · Chemistry · EngineeringClean Air & Water
Safe water and breathable air are not guaranteed. Pollution, industrial runoff, and climate stress are converging. The next generation of environmental scientists and engineers will protect what sustains all life.
Environmental Science · BiologySustainable Agriculture
Feeding 10 billion people without destroying the planet demands a new science of food — soil biology, precision chemistry, genetic innovation, and ecological systems thinking working in concert.
Biology · Chemistry · Env. ScienceHealth & Wellness
The future of human health is one of the greatest scientific frontiers of our time: environmental health, nutrition science, and the chemistry of the human body. Understanding the biology, chemistry, and physics behind wellness isn't just academic. It's the foundation for the next generation of thinkers who will shape how humanity lives, heals, and thrives.
Biology · Chemistry · PhysicsAI & Humanity for a Better World
Artificial intelligence is the most transformative technology in human history. Ensuring it serves humanity — equitably, ethically, and effectively — requires scientists who understand both the math and the stakes.
Math · Engineering · CS
Your student could be the one who figures it out.
Understanding the fundamentals is where every great solution begins.
YOUR TUTOR
Hi, I'm Corin.
I'm a STEM tutor based in Plymouth with the core belief that one of the most powerful things you can give a student is the ability to move fluidly between disciplines. I teach Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Engineering and Science, not as separate subjects, but as interconnected lenses on how the world works. My goal is to build the fundamental logic and reasoning that transforms knowledge from an intimidating unknown into something a student already has the tools to grasp.
I started Catalyst Tutoring for students who aren't satisfied with just passing. For the ones who wonder why a leaf turns green, how a rocket escapes gravity, what makes a molecule stable. For those who question, ponder, and want to change the world, whether in a quiet, personal way or on a grand scale. These students don't need a generic tutor. They need someone who can keep up with them, someone who teaches not only how to pass today's test, but how to think clearly enough to pass any test they put their mind to.
My background: I hold a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor's in Physics, and an Associate's in Science and Engineering. I've conducted research in Atmospheric Chemistry at U of M and bring additional experience in intellectual property law. Professionally, I work as an Environmental Engineer, so when I say I've taken my fair share of tests, I mean it. I know what it takes not just to survive them, but to genuinely understand what's behind them.
Regular sessions, progress check-ins, and a study approach that builds genuine understanding, not just memorization. Real confidence, real grades, real success.
I would love to help you, your child, or loved one reach their fullest potential and be a part of the inspiration that brings them success and fulfillment.
